We Are All On Path

We Are All On Path

This morning, as I drive, I once again pass by a homeless encampment next to the freeway. If I give attention, I wrestle with a bounty of thoughts which range from judgement to questions of how, why, and for what purpose do the variety of these individuals choose or find themselves in the challenging environment of meager means, uncertainty, insecurity, lack, and question of purpose. Sometimes, I am graced to experience empathy for these beings, which concurrently stirs thankfulness for the many blessings I have in my own life with an abundance of nutritious sustenance, spacious shelter, heartfelt connections, vitality of health, comfort of relationships, and most appreciatively, a wide diversity of stimulating and growthful experiences, which have opened my horizons and enriched the life journey in a multitude of ways.

The question of ‘why’ I am so blessed, as well as a query arises of whether I am in said position reflective of “luck of the draw,” a destined life plan, alignment of the stars, and/or the long-time evolution of my soul continually affecting each day’s unveiling. As life continues to deliver a plethora of experience, I am learning to just say ‘thank you’ daily. This is integral to allowing the eyes to open, the mind to receive, and the heart to listen to meet the wide variety of occurrences this life experience delivers. How I choose to respond is all I know, as I have recognized I have little control over what shows up or why it is so. Each of us is on our singular path, and may we consciously choose to learn patience, acceptance, resolve, strength, compassion, kindness, humility, and constructive action along the way. May we remember we are all on path, and each path is the right and perfect lesson for the individual involved.

As I practice the piano of my life, a harmonious concert of awareness seems to be unfolding, which inherently opens countless more doors for living a life on purpose. Thus, who am I to assume a homeless individual has not chosen his or her way to realize certain lessons applicable to this lifetime for their growth? How often do we think we know the answer for others, when we have our own demanding work to open, allow, and courageously reveal our individual infinite path of life discovery?

Is there a possibility for commonality of experience to which we all are aspiring, and regardless of our seeming position in life, if we practice being awake, listening, reflecting, and choosing consciously, the Light of the way that is right for each of us will continue to dawn, shine, and emblazon our Opportunity to live with arms open wide. Consider we have a profoundly unique part to play in the evolution of all life, and this lifetime is nothing more than a circus of happenings which are all designed to support each of us to create and add to the magic of the Universal Order we came to manifest.

“You cannot hope to build a better world without improving the individuals. To
that end, each of us must work for our own improvement, and at the same time
share a general responsibility for all humanity, our particular duty being to aid
those to who we think we can be most useful.”
